World War Z Update

I am sad to say World War Z the most anticipated zombie film, has been pushed back once again. Initially World War Z was suppose to have a 2012 -- specifically December 21, 2012 -- release, so Paramount pushed to a June 23, 2013. So now we have to wait a year and some changes for this movie. I'm disappointed. Oh well there are other movies that I'm looking forward to this year!

Knights Of Badassdom

GENRE: Comedy/Horror
STARRING: Summer Glau, Peter Dinklage and Ryan Kwanten
RELEASE DATE: Spring 2012

Knights of Badassdom is a movie that stars Summer Glau (Firefly! River! Oh--so hot!) Anyways, I am definitely looking forward to seeing this movie. I usually like anything that has Summer Glau in it and I will watch it. I think she's a wonderful actress, beautiful and cute, and straight up awesome. So look out for this little gem this Spring.

Left 4 Dead Fan Film

Recently I've been following a group of young filmmakers on Youtube -- two brothers -- named Connor (oh yeah) and Collin. These two guys are brilliant filmmakers. Personally I don't play a lot of video games, however, I am very familiar with video games that come out because I do have friends are  practically obsessed with gaming (not that it's a bad thing, but pick up a book every now and then). Anyways, I figured I'd post a short film they've made based on the game Left 4 Dead. So check these guys out and subscribe to them.

Weekly Recommendations 4/25/2012

Push -- Push is an interesting little film, which involves people with unique powers who are either being hunted by the government or are in alliance with them. I enjoyed this movie for a number of reason: Action, the unique powers, Camilla Belle (so hot) etc. So check this movie out.

Contagion -- Just by the name of the film you already know what Contagion is about. Those of you who can't put two-and-two together here it is. A virus is released and we watch scientists race against time to find a cure. We watch a journalist make money off the virus by promoting a false curse. And a family man trying to protect his daughter from the disease since he's immune. It makes you feel dirty. So definitely check this movie out.

Fracture -- Fracture stares Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling (who in this film actually did extremely well!) Hopkins kills his wife, confess, and all the evidence points to Hopkins. Gosling is a lawyer who thinks this is a slam dunk case -- he knows he's going to win -- but when he goes to trial Hopkins represents himself. Therefore, all the "evidence" that they thought they had, is not standing up in court and Hopkins is one step ahead of everyone. I loved this movie. Check it out.

Paul -- I loved Paul I thought it was extremely funny. Even thought it came off as a little to preachy -- trying to refute Christianity. And I'm an atheist saying this -- and it was obvious the writers were anti-religion (and so am I), which is OK, just make it not so obvious, regardless of that, it worked. The movie was still extremely funny and crude. I would definitely recommend Paul for everyone especially atheist a like.
3:10 to Yuma -- Personally I'm not a fan of Westerns. I do like Space Westerns like Firefly, but most Westerns like True Grit the remake was kind of boring and not what I expected. Maybe I had caught up in the hype of it all. However, 3:10 to Yuma, I absolutely loved this movie. It's a really interesting film and I thought Christian Bale did a wonderful john and the same goes for Russel Crowe. If you're a fan of Westerns, you'll like this. If you hate Western still check this out, because you just might like it and you'll surprise yourself.

Total Recall (Remake)

GENRE: Science Fiction
STARRING: Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Bieand Bryan Cranston
RELEASE DATE: August 3, 2012

Total Recallis another movie I am looking forward to. I am a huge Colin Ferrell fan and because he's in this movie I will see it. I will say this, the original  Total Recall (1980s) I didn't really care for. However, from my understanding the remake will be much closer to and true to the book compared to the original which was loosely based on the book. So Total Recall will definitely be another movie I will see in theaters this summer.

G.I. Joe Retaliation

GENRE: Action
STARRING: Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Lee Byung-hun, Ray Park
RELEASE DATE: June 29, 2012

G.I. Joe Retaliation isn't a film to eager to see. Why because the first film was pretty awful. However, because I like Dawyane Johnson I will give this movie a chance. Again the first movie was awful, but I do admit for an action flick, it's pretty entertaining and it's almost nostalgic. And because Bruce Willis is in it, I will definitely be watching it.

Release Date: June 29, 2012

The Avengers

GENRE: Superhero Film
STARRING: Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston ,Samuel L. Jackson
RELEASE DATE: May 4, 2012 (United States) and Aprill, 11 2012 (The World Premiere.)

I am not a fan of Superhero movies. However, the only reason why I am anticipating this movie is because of one my favorite writers, producers and directors -- and the creator of the Greatest Sci-Fi TV show ever, Firefly -- Joss Whedon directed The Avengers. So that's the only reason why I will give this movie a benefit of a doubt.

Prometheus

GENRE: Science Fiction
STARRING: Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, Charlize Theron
RELEASE DATE: June 8, 2012

Prometheus is one of the movies I am anticipating so much this year. This movie comes off as one heck of a Sci-Fi movie. I cannot wait for this to come out. All I can say is, I am definitely going to be watching this movies in theaters in June. I love the concept of exploring the alien planet and how everything lead up to the point where we are first introduced to the planet in Alien. So this is one movie I am definitely anticipating Prometheus.

Battleship

GENRE: Science Fiction/Action
STARRING: Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård, Brooklyn Decker, Rihanna, Liam Neeson, Tadanobu Asano
RELEASE DATE: May 18, 2012 (United States, Canada) April 11, 2012 (International.)

When it comes to Battleship I am very skeptical for some reason. If you've played the game then you know there's no way you can base a movie off a game that requires two things: Buddha patience and -- excuse my language, but it's necessary -- a shit load of fuckin' luck to actually win the game! From my understanding Battleship will show the battle from both sides, the humans and the aliens. I hope that this movie will be fantastic. As a matter of fact I will see Battleship because another one of my favorite actors is in it -- Liam Nesson (I always said his name 'Liam Nelson'). However, I am very skeptical of Rhianna's role in the movie. I just hate when rappers or singers become "actors" or "actors" become "singers." It just complicates everything. A great example is Chris Brown in the movie Takers -- A complete rip off of every heist movie made. It was awful -- now that's for another time. Nonetheless, with Rhianna transitioning over into mainstream movies, I am highly skeptical. Thought, I will see it because I do love alien invasion movies! So check out the trailer.

The Bourne Legacy

GENRE: Action Spy
STARRING: Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn
RELEASE DATE: August 3, 2012

I'll admit, I'm looking forward to this movie. I know it doesn't star Matt Damon, and that's OK. Just as long as we get to see kick ass people kicking ass. As for the lead, Jermey Reiner, i think he will be perfect because I am a huge fan of his. I'm also interested in how The Bourne Legacy will tie in with the original Bourne Trilogy. It appears to me through the trail that The Bourne Legacy may take place at the same time Jason Bourne was trying to find out what happened to him because many characters have come back, such ass Kramer, Abbot and Landy. That's just a theory because Wikipedia said The Bourne Legacy takes place after the events of The Bourne Ultimatum. Also it stars some of my favorite actors and actresses Edward Norton and Rachel Weiss. So I will definitely be checking this movie out. So check out the trailer.

Resident Evil: Retribution

STARRING: Milla Jovovich, Sienna Guillory, Johann Urb, Li Bingbing, Shawn Roberts, Kevin Durand, Oded Fehr, Boris Kodjoe, Michelle Rodriguez
RELEASE DATE: September 14, 2012

It's finally coming. Another movie by Paul W.S. Anderson who keeps raping the Resident Evil series. However, like all movies I like to give them all a chance because -- they're films. Well Resident Evil Retribution seems promising *Glances the other way* but I will definitely give it a chance. Check out the trailer -- what do you think?

Big Lots

A few days ago I went to biglots. When I got there, I noticed that the place was practically well maintained. I realized after going to two new Biglots around my town, depending on your location or the environment where your Biglots is located, it will effect the quality of the Biglots. For example:

My local Biglots: This Biglots is run down and the local area is not really an upsacle neighborhood. With that said, when I first went there my first thought was it looks like an indoor Flea Market. The movie selection was decent at one time, but as time went on, where the DVD's are located, the number of DVDs has decreased. Also, the DVDs are mostly Rugrats and every few weeks I head out there, it's the same movies. They rarely change it up -- heck, it appears they take away than add to it.

Second Biglots: This place is descent and has items of better quality. The DVD selection is decent and has more veriety. And every two or three weeks when I head out there, the DVDs change or there's new DVDs.

The Third Biglots: This Biglots was pretty unique. I'm not sure if the neighborhood was better, but the store was pretty big. I think it's about the same size of the biglots by the 10 freeway. The one near my house, is much smaller and run down. This particular Biglots had a pretty nice collection of DVDs on sell. As a matter of fact the shelf went all the way around full of DVDs like the others stores, but the DVDs were packed. I mean literally stuck inside! That's how many DVDs they had stock. There was a plethora of DVDs.

So my theory is this. If your Biglots store doesn't have any new DVDs, search for a new store. And when you search for a new store, make sure the store is bigger. It a better neighborhood and the stuff inside of the store looks well taken care of. If the store fits all three, then you just might find a winner.

Fringe: Letters Of Transit 4/20/2012

I've said it before and I will say it again, Fringe one of the best shows on Prime Time television. I was a bit worried about where they were going with the show in this season. However, with that said, after yesterdays episode, I became a believer. Fringe now has so many opportunities and directions to go in, it's exciting.

It takes place 20 years later, in the year 2036. After the Observers became weary of observing human history, they decided to take over, ruling under a totaltolitarian regime. At that time the Fringe Division tried to combat the Observers, however, they were easily defeated and the remaining Agents were allowed to stay active and control the ones the Observers call the "natives." At this point, we discover that Peter, Olivia, Astrid and Walter were frozen in amber and twenty years later, an Agent named Etta and another Agent freed Walter and Astrid.

However, before freeing Astrid, they took Walter to Massive Dynamic to try and repair his brain, which suffered brain damage. Walter still acted similar to a child and rambling about irrelevant things. However, if you're a follower of the show, you'll remember that William Bell took part of Walters brain out so that Walter wouldn't remember what or who he was becoming. Moreover, since they used the cells from the piece of brain that was taken out, which was kept at Massive Dynamic, it restored his brain and healed it and Walter became more lucid -- similar to Walternate.

Another interesting thing that was revealed is the fact that Walter was going to free William Bell, but he makes a statement later on after Astrid was freed -- I'm paraphrasing -- "even if you had any compassion about William Bell, you still wouldn't help him considering what he did to Olivia." Now this statement has drawn me in. Now I'm focused on where they're taking this show.

Nonetheless, it is revealed that Etta is Peters daughter. Earlier this season, Peter was told by an Observer that he was going to have a son and his name was going to be Henry. However, Etta's real name is Henrietta and turns out to be Peter and Olivia's daughter. I am strongly confident in this show and I defiantly can't wait to watch the next episode.

What would I rate this episode? 5 Stars out of 5 for bring back the mystery on full throttle.

The Walking Dead Season 2 Update

A quick update: I went to Bestbuy to get Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. While I was there I asked one of the employees if they could see when The Walking Dead Season 2 comes out. He checked and told me that it should be out sometime in June. So with that said, hold on for two more months grab a hold of one of the most gripping televisions shows on TV today.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Synopsis: IMF Agent Ethan Hunt and his crew are demand disavowed by the U.S. Government after invoking Ghost Protocol. Now Hunt and his crew must stop a diabolical madman from unleashing his demented desire: Starting a global nuclear war.

I loved MI - GP (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol). It was extremely interesting and captivating. As a matter of fact, they introduce two new characters into this series and that's Paula Patton's and Jeremy Reiner who both stole the show. MI-GP is such an interesting movie that I was really drawn to Brandt (Reiner) character because he has such an interesting back story, which tied into the entire Mission Impossible story in general.

MI-GP starts off with Ethan Hunt (Cruise) in a Russian jail which he escapes with a convict. From there they're thrust into a mission to tract down the launch codes for Russian nuclear warheads. They get double crossed, not by the IMF, but by the enemy and the United States of America activates Ghost Protocol, which is the entire IMF and Hunt and his team are disavowed and on their own to stop the enemy from using the codes.

Ethan Hunt, played by Tom Cruise, was awesome as always. Especially with his stunts he performed which didn't include a stunt double. Brandt, played by Jeremy Reiner, was a breath of fresh air seeing someone new as he brings to the table an interesting set of skills, which include extraordinary hand-to-hand combat. Benji, played by Simon Pegg, was funny as always, however, unlike last time he matured to the point where he's now a field agent can actually handle himself in the field. Pegg also has amazing comedic timing, which adds a bit of comic relief in an intense story. Jane, played by Paula Patton, was gorgeous, electrifying, fascinating, voluptuous and a show-stealer with her performance. Not all women can do well with the physical demands of hand-to-hand combat for the screen. However, Patton does an extremely great job at utilizing her self-defense skills.

Nonetheless, there's one Character I didn't like and that was Anil Kapoor's character -- I can't remember his name -- he just didn't seem all that convincing like the rest of the cast. I've seen him act as President of an Arab country in 24 Season 8 and there he does an exceptionally great job, but in MI-GP I think he fell short or better yet it just wasn't the right role for him.

In a nutshell, MI-GP was a great watch and I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone, especially if you're a fan of the first three films. What do I rate this movie? 4.5 Stars out of 5.

Weekly Recommendations 4/16/2012

Trick r Treat

This is a little gem and if I'm not mistaken didn't come out at the theaters. It's based on a comic book that centers around multiple stories within a small town. Personally this is a great watch on Halloween or any day of the year. So if you haven't seen it, check it out.

Dark Water (Original Japanese Version)

A lot better than the remake by miles. I absolutely loved this movie because of the atmosphere. Also at the end, the ghost is really -- excuse my language -- fuckin' creepy! However, I will say this Japanese horror films are not all that scary and they don't sit will with a lot of people. So I would definitely say go into this movie with caution.

The Uninvited

Emily Browning so damn hot! I said it! I had to! I really enjoyed this movie even though it got negative to mixed reviews. I thought the ending was unexpected and worked extremely well. If you like ghost stories or a haunting this definitely check this movie out.

Hard Candy

I don't like Ellen Page -- heck, I can't stand the bitch. However, I love her in Hard Candy. She was perfect for this role and so was Patrick Wilson. This film is about a teen age girl who is trying to solve the case for the murder off another teenage girl who met some men of the Internet. Page's character follows the evidence to Patrick Wilson's character and from there... Everything goes down hill.

Troll Hunter

A film I like to say, when it comes to other DVD collectors, I was the first one to know about it. Before this movie came out, I knew about it for a year. I waited forever for it to come out on DVD and when it did, was I happy. This movie is a Norwegian film and is absolutely amazing. Based on the title Troll Hunter, do I really need to tell you what this movie is about?

DVD Collectiong

The greatest thing invented by mankind is Film. And I genuinely believe that, just like I believe that one day we will be invaded by aliens and I will be the leader of the resistance in my city. But that's for another topic. There's one thing most people don't realize and that's there are two kinds of DVD collectors. Here they are:

The Specific Collector.
The General Collector.

What's the difference between the two? The Specific Collector is someone like me. I will only buy movies that I liked, enjoyed, interested in and can see myself watching over and over again. The General Collector is someone who just buys films just for the heck of it. I'm fall in with the later. Personally I've seen movies that I've enjoyed, but I will not buy them because I can't picture myself sitting down and watching them again. For example, I grew up watching Family Matter, Fully House, The Wonder Years, Step By Step, Ninja Turtles etc. But I will never buy them on DVD -- ever. Why? Because they were good at the time, but not now.

General Collectors will simply buy it because it's out and they just like to collect cinema. I like to collect cinema, heck, I like film just as much as a General Collector, but I just don't see the point in buying movies that no longer interest me. Time and time again I see YouTubers -- who in their own right, can do it, and I admire them fore it -- buy movies just for the sake of getting it because it's out.

Also, being a Specific Collector, you collect within your likes. I will not buy drama, even though there are some movies that I like that are dramas i.e. Little Miss Sunshine. However, other than that I will not buy them. Nonetheless, not only will I not buy movies from a genre I don't care for, I will not always blind buy. General Collectors don't worry about buying something that is completely awful! I can't do that, unless I can find a place that has good movies for cheep, such as a Good Will or a Pawn Shops that have DVDs. And in my area there are no Good Wills... That I know of. Some collectors will buy a movie, and even thought the cover says it all "fuckin' cheese, just fuck off while you can!" They will still buy it. I. Can't. Do. That.

However, if that's you, a General Collector, then go for it as long as you're doing what you enjoy. But for me I will remain a Specific Collector of DVDs.

Weekly Recommendations 4/10/2012

Firefly -- Firefly is the greatest Sci-fi television show I've ever seen. Prior to seeing Firefly I was not even close to caring for sci-fi in general. I watched the films, but I never really took the initiative to hunt down Sci-fi movies etc. Then the consciousness of man shifted and I found Firefly and I fell in love with it. There's only one season because the network (fox) canceled in in spite of its high ratings... Well Fox has a habit of doing that a lot with good shows, thinking they know what people actually want to watch. Firefly is one of those shows that simply sucks you in from the get-go and the story is such uniqueness to it, it works. So if you haven't seen Firefly check it out. (Also, a movie was put out called Serenity which is just as great!"

Ginger Snaps -- Ginger Snaps is a werewolf movie about a girl who gets attacked by a warewolf and slowly starts to change into one. I loved Ginger Snaps it's such a fun creepy independent movie that produced two more movies Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed and Ginger Snaps The Beginning, both movies are great, but my favorite is Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed because of Emily Perkins (something about her is just downright hot!) If you like werewolf movies and independent movies in general, check out Ginger Snaps.

Contact -- When I first saw Contact I hated it because, well, where the worst play you can watch a movie? At school. I saw it at school. However, of the years I kept being drawn to this movie until one day I picked it up and re-watched it... And I simply just fell in love with it. Contact is about making contact with extraterrestrial life. However, the lead is Jodie Foster (hottie) who's a scientist working for SETI who's in search for extraterrestrial life, and a skeptic when it comes to faith in a god. However, her co-lead is Matthew McConaughey (Total bad ass) who's a man of faith. Both characters (or beliefs) clash, yet at the end manage to coexistence in a profound way. I would definitely recommend Contact, only if you're into a lot of duologue and open-minded to the possibility to life on other planets.

Gothika -- Gothika such a fantastic horror/thriller. I just recent purchased it, however, I couldn't remember much about the movie. I do know Penelope Cruz (who plays Chloe, also is damn hot) was fantastic in this movie. If you think she can't act, watch this movie and you will change your mind. Halie Berry is just as phenomenal as Doctor Grey. If you want to see a ghostly tale that takes place in a mental asylum, check out Gothika.

The Rite -- The Rite is a very interesting film. I wills tart off by saying it's not my favorite exorcism film, the best exorcism film is The Exorcism of Emily Rose (Jennifer Carpenter, she's so creepy looking it's hot. She's fine!) Anyways, back to The Rite. The Rite is about a Priest who's losing his faith while another, Anthony Hopkins, knows all to well about the paranormal world. As the priest tries to understand exorcism and see if it's a hoax or if it's real, he's sucked into the world of demonic position and comes face-to-face with the one they call the devil. I liked this movie, I thought it was a pretty decent flick, a lot better than The Exorcist with Linda Blair, personally I hated that movie and I found it funny and not scary at all. So check The Rite out only if you're into movies about demonic possession, if not and you still want to see it, then give it a rent!

24

Synopsis: Federal Agent Jack Bauer races against time to stop terrorist attacks against the United States.

One thing to say about this show -- the GREATEST ACTION/DRAMA TELEVISION SHOW IN THE HISTORY OF ACTION/DRAMA TELEVISION SHOWS! I love this show. If you hate it, there's only one reason why you hate it and that's because you are genetically related to Osama Bin Laden -- Ha!

24 is an action pack TV show filled with everything you'd want in a TV show -- explosions, fights, car chases, gun fights, political drama, treason, spies, moles, double agents etc. This show just never lets you go. Each episode is equivalent to one hour of a day, and Jack Bauer has a day to prevent a terrorist attack; so, with that said each episode leaves you with a cliffhanger. The last episode also has a cliff hanger, which is just as shocking, except for Season 6, the ending left the viewers wondering what's next for 24. This was a good strategies the writers used because it took the show in a different direction, which worked for the best.

The brilliance of 24 is the fact that there's so much drama happening and sub stories, which propel the show in various directions. These directions are directions that make the story even more interesting the following season. For example. In Season 4 Jack Bauer and his team were tracking a nuclear bomb, but the man they wanted was a Chinese National who was hiding out at the Chinese Embassy in L.A., the Chinese were procrastinating in spite of the dangers that were happening. Well Jack and his CTU agents (Counter Terrorist Unit) raid the embassy and extract the man (the Chinese National) and during this siege, no one was killed except for the Chinese Councilman (They were instructed to not use deadly force at any cost). Then at the end of Season 4 faked his death with Chloe O'Brien, Tony Almeida and Michelle Dessler (she's so gorgeous! Lol).

Then in Season 5, someone knows Jack is alive and sets him up to be framed, however, this thrusts him back into action. However at the end of Season 5 Jack Bauer was kidnapped by the Chinese and taken to China for the killing of the Chinese Counselmen in Season 4... In between Seasons 5 and 6 it's been two years or a year and a half and Jack Bauer has been missing, and the U.S. government knows the Chinese have him. Also, Jack Bauer has not spoken a word regardless of being tortured (He's a former Delta Force Operator) by the Chinese. In Season 6 President Wayne Palmer pays Jack's Ransom and gets him back from the Chinese in order to meet the demands of a terrorist, Abu Fayed, who says he will provide the location of the man -- Hamri Al-Assad -- who's responsible for all the terrorist attacks in the United States.

Jack is brought back to the United States and is handed over to the director of CTU Bill Buchanan, then Buchanan makes the trade with Fayed and in return Fayed gives Buchanan the location of Assad. However, Jack escapes Fayeds custody after discovering that Fayed is the one responsible for all the terrorist attacks and Assad is actually there to stop the Fayed and the terrorist attacks since Assad renounced 20 years of terrorism for peace. So at the end of Season 6 Jack is left looking out into the ocean...

Then the TV movie, 24 Redemption, comes into play where Jack Bauer's soul is in turmoil so he flees to Africa to find a place to find peace or redeem himself. However, he's been subpoena by the Senate to appear before them for crimes such as torture etc., but he doesn't want to go, nonetheless, at the same time, he's trying to help save a group of kids from being drafted into an army to kill for a dictator, so Jack sacrifices his freedom so the kids could flee the country, because the only way they would be able to leave is if Jack went with them.

Then it rolls over into Season 7 which starts four years after 24 Redemption events with Jack Bauer appearing before Senate. They wants to convict him of crimes he did (torture to get information etc.) even though his actions were done in the name of his country.

Fact: Jack Bauer killed James Bond,
Jason Bourne and Chuck Norris.
Now with that small example given above (there's more drama like that through out all the seasons, it's actually amazing) factor in all the other aspects of the show that spices it up even MORE: Drama, spies, moles, double agents, shoot outs, assassinations, fights, betrayal, politics, shoot outs, secret missions, interrogations, fight scenes, infiltration or undercover work, personal conflicts that effect his his work such as in Season 1, relationships, scandals, treason, MI6 Double agents, etc. I can literally go on and on about the things you will encounter while watching 24.

24 is one of those shows that keeps your attention the entire hour, as well as gets you hyped up to the point where you actually want to help Jack Bauer. Heck watching 24 makes me want to fight 300 Spartans plus a ninja clan, then bitch Slap Chuck Norris while I fupa punch the T-1000, then raid a terrorist camp with my flame thrower -- SEMPER FI -- pile-drive hulk Hogan and Slap him with a Slim Jim, then meditate and Astral Project to Mount Olympus and defeat the Gods of Olympus along with the Titans, then return to my body, then create the zombie virus and start the zombie apocalypse, kill all the zombies with a two dollar pistol and save the day, then plug into the matrix, fight Neo and a million Agent Smiths, then burn down a Jehovah's Witness congregation... Repeat. That's how great 24 is. That's how engaging it is. And that's how awesome it is. If you haven't seen this show, please check it out!

What do I rate 24? 5 Stars out 5 all the way!

The Walking Dead Season 3 Theories

The Walking Dead one of my favorite TV shows on right now. If you haven't seen it, I guarantee you will like this movie. So if you have a chance to pick it up -- go for it! Now, what is the point of this post? To give my theories on what I believe will happen in Season 3 of The Walking Dead.

I will start of by saying two things. If the writers depend to much on shock-factor, the show will end up like Smallville and Heros and if they kill off Daryl Dixon, the show will fall flat on it's face. With that said, I am truly excited about this television series because there's so many avenues the writers can take. Nonetheless, this post is to give my theory about what I believe will happen in Season 3 of The Walking Dead.

In Season 3 of The Walking Dead, I believe Merle will return possibly with a gang of his own and Morgan will return with his son Dwayne. [SPOILER ALERT] Shane dies in Season 3, now for the first two season, Shane was the main villain in a way, he caused a lot of tension within the group especially when you see his actions. Now that Shane is out of the picture, the has to be some form of conflict within the show, to keep the show interesting, moving and on edge. So how would this be achieved? By simply bringing back Merle (with or without a gang) and bringing back Morgan. Merle is a racist and Morgan's black, both characters are strong and can definitely take charge, so with that said there will defiantly be some friction between the two.

Also bringing back Merle would mean T-Dog (also black) would be caught in the middle of this feud because T-Dog dropped the key in Season 1, which caused Merle to raining hand-cuffed on the roof. So Merle's only option was to cut off his hand. So there will definitely be conflict there.

Furthermore, with Merle returning, Daryl, Merle's younger brother, would also be in conflict for a number of reasons. One, Daryl always seemed like someone you can talk to regardless of if he hates you or not -- he can reason. So over the course of Season 1 and 2 he becomes a redeeming character -- you start to like him. With that said if Merle returns Daryl might relapse into his old ways and take Merle's side. Two, he may rebel against Merle. Three, if Merle returns with an army of outlaws behind him, this will put everyone in danger especially Merle if he doesn't take sides with his bother. There's so many possibilities that can take place if Merle returns.

Personally I think Daryl and Merle are very complex characters and if they were to be written off the show just for the sake of shock value, then the show will start to go down hill from there. Nonetheless, if you've never seen the The Walking Dead then I highly recommend it.

Weekly Recommendation 4/2/2012

House -- House is a movie that I've been trying to figure out the name of for years -- I remember as a kid, I'd sit around and watch this movie with my mom. If you haven't seen this little horror/comedy, check your local library and give it a watch.

Wolf Creek -- Wolf Creek isn't the best film out there, however, for a low-budget road trick/slasher film, this little gem is remarkable.

P2 -- P2 is a very underrated movie that came out in 2011 sometime if I'm not mistaken. It was never released in theaters, however, regardless of the distribution level, it doesn't change the fact that this movies is absolutely well-done. You kind of start to sympathize with the killer and start to realize "all he wanted was someone to have Christmas dinner with him!" Just check it out and enjoy.

Skyline -- This movie isn't for everyone. Personally I enjoyed it because it was very different, however, to me, it seemed to work. Everyone has their own different tastes, so you decide if you want to see it... Well I just might do a DVD Review on it just to give you a better picture of what this movie is about.

Fargo -- Fargo one word describes it: Masterpiece. When I first saw this movie, I immediately fell in love with Frances McDormand, because she's funny and cute at the same time in this movie. It's suppose to be based on a true story, but we all know where that goes when it comes to Hollywood and "true stories" they're always quick to stretch the truth further than it really is. Nonetheless, I highly recommend Fargo in this weeks Weekly Recommendation.

Immortals

Synopsis: A power-hungry man is searching for a bow that can conquer heaven and earth. However, the Gods of Olympus have chosen a man -- a servant -- to defeat evil armies before they conquer the world and heaven alike.

Immortals is such an awesome movie. I love Greek Mythology because the stories are extremely creative. Honestly, when I first went into his movie my initial thoughts were "a 300 rip-off." Was I wrong! Immortals is a fantastic flick. Great action. Amazing actors. The cinematography is amazing, however, the only thing that's akin to 300 is the way it was filmed (the "comic book look") and the dolly fight scene as the main character kicks-ass. Nonetheless, it doesn't matter, because there was actually a great story there and this story was fantastic.

I'm not saying this movie doesn't have it's flaws, but that doesn't change the fact that this movie is actually very entertaining. The story is interesting also. There is one thing I'd like to point out and that's the gods of Olympus die in this movie, not all of them, but a good number of them. But it appears that only another god or a Titan can kill a god, but this idea doesn't change the fact that it's still a very entertaining film. I'm not to up-to-par with my Greek Mythology, but the books I do have on it and the stories I do recall, the gods can't die.I may be wrong, but I don't recall them ever being killed.

What I enjoyed the most about this particular film was the fight scene with the gods, and the gods were all bad-ass themselves, using their weapons. I.e. Zeus (A sword), Poseidon (he used a trident), Athena (I believe knives), Heracles and Apollo. I can't recall of their weapons, but one of the gods used a chain to fight and I believe that was Heracles and Ares used a hammer. However, regardless of who used what, the fights scenes between the gods and the titans was fantastic! So many people put this movie down for whatever reason. I'm going to assume that were hopping for another 300, but it's good that the producers didn't fully take the 300 route because it would have said one thing and one thing alone: "We're just trying to make money, and you fools are dumb enough to give in and see this movie."

Yes, we're all aware that the studios main focus is to make money, but at least they allow the producers to be creative with it. Personally I thought Immortals was a fantastic film and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Greek Mythology like I do. So if you get a chance pick this movie up and check it out.

What do I rate this movie? I rate it 3.5 Stars out of 5.
