Okay first off, I've been away for a while, I had to track down a couple of Jehovah's Witnesses and... Never mind, but recently I finished watching Breaking Bad Season 4 which was FANTASTIC! If you haven't seen it, watch it! Now, Season 5 starts this Sunday and I am more than excited about it. Below is a ninety second clip of the first episode. If you haven't watched any of the episodes, then you might not know what happened. This takes place -- more like picks up right after the Season Finale for Season 4, which was jaw-dropping! So check it out!

Deadset (Full movie on Youtube)
A while back I mentioned there was an English movie called Deadset. I praised this movie because of how magnificent it is. I'll says it again everyone in this movie -- mini-series -- is an asshole except for Liz May Brice's character who I thought was pretty kick ass. But other than that every single person in this FUCKIN' FILM is a douche bag on so many levels. That's how good Deadset is, it messes with your emotions and causes you to hate or like someone and then you end up hating them with a passion. I hate some characters in Deadset so much I think I should make a religion out of hating them. The writing is fantastic. The direction is brilliant. And most of all the acting was above "good acting." So remember this movie with all of the episodes put together as one is two hours and twenty minutes and three seconds. So pull up a chair, get some food and enjoy!

Zomblies
Yes Zomblies is the correct spelling for this video. I saw this the other day on Youtube and I thought it was fantastic. So if you have time grab something to eat, pull up a chair and watch this kick as forty-something minute zombie movie. I loved it!

Revolution
I love JJ Abrams! I think he's one of the most fascinating individuals I've seen in a long time, especially when it comes to stories. Revolution is about planet Earth simply losing all it's power plunging mankind back into the stone age. So the movie is a Futuristic, Post-Apocalyptic, dystopia TV show. Revolution is brought to you by JJ Abrams and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke and directed by John Favreau.
I personally love futuristic, post-apocalyptic movies also dystopian movies as well. So I am very intrigued by it. Also it stars Billy Burke, he Bella's dad on the twilight movies and comes on in Season 2 of 24 as... um... What's his name... oh yeah, Gary Matheson! Bad ass. He even comes out in the movie Drive Angry with Nicolas Cage! However, there's one actor I can't wait to see in this series is Giancarlo Esposito A.K.A. Gustavo 'Gus' Fring from Breaking Bad! If you haven't seen Breaking Bad get it Season one is 15$, however, Esposito comes out in Season 2, 3 and 4. He's a dynamic actor and scares the heck out of me with that stare he does! If you don't know what I mean click here [Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert! It gives away everything about this character! So proceed with caucion.] So all in all, I can't wait to watch this series!
So from my understanding Revolution airs in the fall for the 2012-2013 line up. It will air on NBC at 10 P.M. So check it out! I know I will!

Taking Lives -- Taking Lives is a hot little Angelina Jolie movie about a man who witnesses a serial killer kill and points him out. However, now the killer is after him.
Spirit -- Spirit is amazing! If you like those comic book movies like 300 or Sin City then this movie will captivate you. It's about a man who is killed but comes back as the Spirit. However, he has amazing powers, which even he can't explain.
Blow -- Blow a fantastic Jonny Depp and Penelope Cruz movie about a drug lord from the seventies. It shows his rise and fall. If you like movie that deal with the cartel, mafia or similar themes, then this movie will definitely hold your interests.
The Eye (Original) -- The Eye is ten times better than the American remake with Jessica Alba. This movie is genuinely scary, and I swear there's one scene where you will definitely get scared.
The Peacemaker -- The Peacemaker is an action film with George Clooney and Nichole Kiddman. There's lots of action and suspense in this movie. It's a very entertaining movie from the mid 90's if I'm not mistaken. Enjoy!

Serenity -- Serenity, which what happened after Firefly went off the air, is the best Sci-Fi movie I've seen. I've said many times Firefly is the greatest Sci-Fi TV show that I've seen -- heck it turned me on to Sci-Fi. Serenity is a fantastic movie, put it this way, lets say you didn't see an episode of Firefly and you watch Serenity, you'll still like it. It's such a great movie. I'd highly recommend this movie to all people even if you're not into Sci-Fi. Also, it's on sale for $4 and some change at Target, so go pick up your copy today -- actually while you're at it pick up Firefly it's only $16 and some change! So I highly recommend this movie. The crew of Serenity continue to evade revers and the Alliance, until an Alliance Operator tracks them down bringing chaos to the stars.
Sleepy Hallow -- Another genre I enjoy is Gothic/Horror movies that take place buck in the 16th century. Sleepy Hollow star Jonny Depp and Christina Ricci. This is a fantastic movie and I will recommend it to everyone who enjoys a quirky little horror story. It involves an investigator who comes to a small town to investigate a string of mysterious murders.
Donnie Darko -- Donnie Darko is such an interesting film. When I first seen Donnie Darko, I was complete drawn to the character. This a Sci-Fi/Time Travel film, which is very complex. So it takes multiple viewing to actually understand. But regardless, even if you don't like Sci-Fi, this movie just might capture your interest. Donnie Darko is about a young man who has emotional problems. He's miraculously saved from being crushed by a random airplane engine by his sleep walking disorder. Then later discovers the secrets to time travel.
Andromeda Strain -- Warning, be careful with this movie! Andromeda Strain isn't for everyone. It's for hardcore Sci-Fi fans. However, even hardcore Sci-Fi fans don't like this movie. It's either love or hate -- and most people hate it. Personally, I enjoyed it -- it's actually more of a made for TV on the Sci-Fi channel kind of movie -- but if you can look past it, it's very interesting to watch. So again, I can't recommend it for everyone, you were warned, approach with caution. A mysterious virus wipes out a small town, except for a local drunk and an infant. Scientist must race against time to discover a cure before it's to late.
Joy Ride -- Joy Ride is fantastic! I love JJ Abrams! I love everything he does -- except for Lost. I killed so many brain cells trying to figure it out -- but Joy Ride was written and produced by JJ Abrams. The entire cast was great, Paul Walker, Lele Sobeiski and Steve Zhan. The entire time I was holding my breath and hanging on to the edge of my seat. I must add, I've never seen the sequel or am I sure if there's a third one, but the best one is usually the first. Take my word for it -- it's magnificent. Two best friends go to two different colleges. When school is out for vacation, the two decide to take a road trick home, when they come face-to-face with a diabolic truck driver.

Firefly
The greatest TV show of all-time -- Firefly. This show is such a priceless treasure to me that if I had to choose one movie to take with me on an island, it would most likely be Firefly. Why? Because it's that freakin' awesome. Personally, I never really gave a damn about sci-fi, until I began watching Firefly. It's that dear to me. As a mater of fact I watch the entire series at least twice a month. Yeah it's that damn good. Put it this way, prior to Firefly if you told me that they had Sci-Fi space Westerns genre, I'd probably laugh in your face. But when I saw Firefly for the first time -- I fell in love. I'm now a huge fan of Joss Whedon and his brilliant stories.
I remember when I first saw it -- I loved it, but the theme song I hated it. However, but by the third episode I realized the theme song for Firefly was all about Captain Malcolm Reynolds. I began to appreciate it even more. Then came the sad news -- Fox 11 canceled it. Why? For no damn reason at all. The ratings were high. The fans loved it. It was so good, even after it was canceled the fans tried to raise money so that Nathan Fillon would be able to purchase it and continue Firefly. They sent dinosaurs to Fox. Letters. E-mails. Everything, I wouldn't be surprised if some people sold their souls to the devil just to bring back Firefly.
This is how I truly felt about the cancellation of Firefly -- I must add, they didn't even air all of the episodes -- I felt cheated. I felt so cheated. I was so dedicated to this series, or better yet when I found a series I actually enjoyed, I felt like Fox committed a hate crime. Every time I watch an episode of Firefly there's a sense of longing -- longing for the Serenity crew to return and kick ass. I miss Inara's graceful beauty and great sense of calm. Kaylee's innocent nature and interesting snaps at Simon. I wish to see Simon and Kaylee become an item (even though they did in the movie Serenity), while River continues doing freaky things that make everyone panic or laughing while she threatens Jaynee about being able to "kill him with her brain". Shepherd, I want to know more about him. Zoe one of the best characters on the show. So calm and loyal to Captain Reynolds. Jaynee Cobbs what more can you say about him? He made the show with his unstable loyalty and his snarky remarks. And then we have Captain Malcolm Reynolds, Mal, Sarge, we miss his witty humor. But I saved the best for last -- Wash -- what a funny man he is! His humor. I.e. Kaylee: Wash, do you think I'm pretty? Wash: If I was not wed I'd take you in a manly fashion. Kaylee: Because I'm pretty? Wash: Because you're pretty. Ahhh -- such a fantastic show.
I miss the Chinese cursing -- the alliance -- the western atmosphere -- the shootouts -- the companions -- the insane jokes about Simon. I -- I -- I miss Firefly. Dammit Fox why'd you do it? But you know what? Like all loyal Browncoats, we have faith that they will bring another Firefly movie or they will bring Friefly back -- hopefully. There's nothing wrong with hope, right? Well until the day they bring back Firefly kick ass Browncoats! Fox, cancel my shows and ignore our pleads, but they can't take the sky from me!

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon
I have to say out of all the characters on The Walking Dead, I think Daryl Dixon is one of the strongest and best developed. Some interesting surprises happened in Season 2, and all I have to say to the producers and writers is... Don't depend on "the shock effect" for endings. Because if you kill of to many of the good characters then the show will go to crap like a lot of other shows out there that started off with a bang, but declined because of to many great characters were killed off.
So again -- Daryl Dixon is my favorite character on The Walking Dead. Here's a little tribute to a YouTubers and Daryl Dixon fan put together. Enjoy!

Weekly Recommendations 4/30/2012
Dark City -- This movie will remind most people of The Matrix... Well kind of, but keep in mind I think it's better than the The Matrix, because it's actually good. Also, this came out before The Matrix.
Whiteout -- Kate Beckinsale is hot. Hands down. However, this movie I liked, it had lower reviews on line, but regardless it's still worth checking out. We've all been there, you know when someone says such and such movie sucks, then you see it and you're completely amazed by it. That's how I was with Whiteout. So give it a chance, you just might be surprised.
The Descent -- Prior to The Descent there were no real good modern horror films. As a matter of fact The Descent was the last REAL horror movie in my opinion. So if you haven't seen it give it a shot. Actually, I strongly recommend this to all horror fans.
From Dusk Till Dawn -- From Dusk Till Dawn was one of my favorite vampire films growing up. It's funny. Crafty. Slick dialogue. Gruesome. And it turned me into a fan of George Clooney. Most people have seen it, but I'm sure some haven't, so I'm still recommending it.
Little Miss Sunshine -- What can you say about Little Miss Sunshine? It's absolutely adorable! I'll admit it, I don't care for dramas, but Little Miss Sunshine just makes me smile. Everything about this film is so interesting. So again, if you've strayed away from this film for whatever reason, then please check it out. Give it a chance. You just might like it.

World War Z Update
I am sad to say World War Z the most anticipated zombie film, has been pushed back once again. Initially World War Z was suppose to have a 2012 -- specifically December 21, 2012 -- release, so Paramount pushed to a June 23, 2013. So now we have to wait a year and some changes for this movie. I'm disappointed. Oh well there are other movies that I'm looking forward to this year!

Left 4 Dead Fan Film
Recently I've been following a group of young filmmakers on Youtube -- two brothers -- named Connor (oh yeah) and Collin. These two guys are brilliant filmmakers. Personally I don't play a lot of video games, however, I am very familiar with video games that come out because I do have friends are practically obsessed with gaming (not that it's a bad thing, but pick up a book every now and then). Anyways, I figured I'd post a short film they've made based on the game Left 4 Dead. So check these guys out and subscribe to them.

Push -- Push is an interesting little film, which involves people with unique powers who are either being hunted by the government or are in alliance with them. I enjoyed this movie for a number of reason: Action, the unique powers, Camilla Belle (so hot) etc. So check this movie out.
Contagion -- Just by the name of the film you already know what Contagion is about. Those of you who can't put two-and-two together here it is. A virus is released and we watch scientists race against time to find a cure. We watch a journalist make money off the virus by promoting a false curse. And a family man trying to protect his daughter from the disease since he's immune. It makes you feel dirty. So definitely check this movie out.
Fracture -- Fracture stares Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling (who in this film actually did extremely well!) Hopkins kills his wife, confess, and all the evidence points to Hopkins. Gosling is a lawyer who thinks this is a slam dunk case -- he knows he's going to win -- but when he goes to trial Hopkins represents himself. Therefore, all the "evidence" that they thought they had, is not standing up in court and Hopkins is one step ahead of everyone. I loved this movie. Check it out.
Paul -- I loved Paul I thought it was extremely funny. Even thought it came off as a little to preachy -- trying to refute Christianity. And I'm an atheist saying this -- and it was obvious the writers were anti-religion (and so am I), which is OK, just make it not so obvious, regardless of that, it worked. The movie was still extremely funny and crude. I would definitely recommend Paul for everyone especially atheist a like.
3:10 to Yuma -- Personally I'm not a fan of Westerns. I do like Space Westerns like Firefly, but most Westerns like True Grit the remake was kind of boring and not what I expected. Maybe I had caught up in the hype of it all. However, 3:10 to Yuma, I absolutely loved this movie. It's a really interesting film and I thought Christian Bale did a wonderful john and the same goes for Russel Crowe. If you're a fan of Westerns, you'll like this. If you hate Western still check this out, because you just might like it and you'll surprise yourself.

RELEASE DATE: August 3, 2012
Total Recallis another movie I am looking forward to. I am a huge Colin Ferrell fan and because he's in this movie I will see it. I will say this, the original Total Recall (1980s) I didn't really care for. However, from my understanding the remake will be much closer to and true to the book compared to the original which was loosely based on the book. So Total Recall will definitely be another movie I will see in theaters this summer.

G.I. Joe Retaliation isn't a film to eager to see. Why because the first film was pretty awful. However, because I like Dawyane Johnson I will give this movie a chance. Again the first movie was awful, but I do admit for an action flick, it's pretty entertaining and it's almost nostalgic. And because Bruce Willis is in it, I will definitely be watching it.

I am not a fan of Superhero movies. However, the only reason why I am anticipating this movie is because of one my favorite writers, producers and directors -- and the creator of the Greatest Sci-Fi TV show ever, Firefly -- Joss Whedon directed The Avengers. All I can say is, I am definitely going to be watching this movies in theaters in June. So this is one movie I am definitely anticipating Prometheus.

When it comes to Battleship I am very skeptical for some reason. If you've played the game then you know there's no way you can base a movie off a game that requires two things: Buddha patience and -- excuse my language, but it's necessary -- a shit load of fuckin' luck to actually win the game! From my understanding Battleship will show the battle from both sides, the humans and the aliens. I hope that this movie will be fantastic. As a matter of fact I will see Battleship because another one of my favorite actors is in it -- Liam Nesson (I always said his name 'Liam Nelson'). However, I am very skeptical of Rhianna's role in the movie. I just hate when rappers or singers become "actors" or "actors" become "singers." It just complicates everything. A great example is Chris Brown in the movie Takers -- A complete rip off of every heist movie made. It was awful -- now that's for another time. Nonetheless, with Rhianna transitioning over into mainstream movies, I am highly skeptical. Thought, I will see it because I do love alien invasion movies! So check out the trailer.

I'll admit, I'm looking forward to this movie. I know it doesn't star Matt Damon, and that's OK. Just as long as we get to see kick ass people kicking ass. As for the lead, Jermey Reiner, i think he will be perfect because I am a huge fan of his. I'm also interested in how The Bourne Legacy will tie in with the original Bourne Trilogy. It appears to me through the trail that The Bourne Legacy may take place at the same time Jason Bourne was trying to find out what happened to him because many characters have come back, such ass Kramer, Abbot and Landy. That's just a theory because Wikipedia said The Bourne Legacy takes place after the events of The Bourne Ultimatum. Also it stars some of my favorite actors and actresses Edward Norton and Rachel Weiss. So I will definitely be checking this movie out. So check out the trailer.

It's finally coming. Another movie by Paul W.S. Anderson who keeps raping the Resident Evil series. However, like all movies I like to give them all a chance because -- they're films. Well Resident Evil Retribution seems promising *Glances the other way* but I will definitely give it a chance. Check out the trailer -- what do you think?

Big Lots
A few days ago I went to biglots. When I got there, I noticed that the place was practically well maintained. I realized after going to two new Biglots around my town, depending on your location or the environment where your Biglots is located, it will effect the quality of the Biglots. For example:
My local Biglots: This Biglots is run down and the local area is not really an upsacle neighborhood. With that said, when I first went there my first thought was it looks like an indoor Flea Market. The movie selection was decent at one time, but as time went on, where the DVD's are located, the number of DVDs has decreased. Also, the DVDs are mostly Rugrats and every few weeks I head out there, it's the same movies. They rarely change it up -- heck, it appears they take away than add to it.
Second Biglots: This place is descent and has items of better quality. The DVD selection is decent and has more veriety. And every two or three weeks when I head out there, the DVDs change or there's new DVDs.
The Third Biglots: This Biglots was pretty unique. I'm not sure if the neighborhood was better, but the store was pretty big. I think it's about the same size of the biglots by the 10 freeway. The one near my house, is much smaller and run down. This particular Biglots had a pretty nice collection of DVDs on sell. As a matter of fact the shelf went all the way around full of DVDs like the others stores, but the DVDs were packed. I mean literally stuck inside! That's how many DVDs they had stock. There was a plethora of DVDs.
So my theory is this. If your Biglots store doesn't have any new DVDs, search for a new store. And when you search for a new store, make sure the store is bigger. It a better neighborhood and the stuff inside of the store looks well taken care of. If the store fits all three, then you just might find a winner.

Fringe: Letters Of Transit 4/20/2012
I've said it before and I will say it again, Fringe one of the best shows on Prime Time television. I was a bit worried about where they were going with the show in this season. However, with that said, after yesterdays episode, I became a believer. Fringe now has so many opportunities and directions to go in, it's exciting.
It takes place 20 years later, in the year 2036. After the Observers became weary of observing human history, they decided to take over, ruling under a totaltolitarian regime. At that time the Fringe Division tried to combat the Observers, however, they were easily defeated and the remaining Agents were allowed to stay active and control the ones the Observers call the "natives." At this point, we discover that Peter, Olivia, Astrid and Walter were frozen in amber and twenty years later, an Agent named Etta and another Agent freed Walter and Astrid.
However, before freeing Astrid, they took Walter to Massive Dynamic to try and repair his brain, which suffered brain damage. Walter still acted similar to a child and rambling about irrelevant things. However, if you're a follower of the show, you'll remember that William Bell took part of Walters brain out so that Walter wouldn't remember what or who he was becoming. Moreover, since they used the cells from the piece of brain that was taken out, which was kept at Massive Dynamic, it restored his brain and healed it and Walter became more lucid -- similar to Walternate.
Another interesting thing that was revealed is the fact that Walter was going to free William Bell, but he makes a statement later on after Astrid was freed -- I'm paraphrasing -- "even if you had any compassion about William Bell, you still wouldn't help him considering what he did to Olivia." Now this statement has drawn me in. Now I'm focused on where they're taking this show.
Nonetheless, it is revealed that Etta is Peters daughter. Earlier this season, Peter was told by an Observer that he was going to have a son and his name was going to be Henry. However, Etta's real name is Henrietta and turns out to be Peter and Olivia's daughter. I am strongly confident in this show and I defiantly can't wait to watch the next episode.
What would I rate this episode? 5 Stars out of 5 for bring back the mystery on full throttle.

The Walking Dead Season 2 Update
A quick update: I went to Bestbuy to get Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. While I was there I asked one of the employees if they could see when The Walking Dead Season 2 comes out. He checked and told me that it should be out sometime in June. So with that said, hold on for two more months grab a hold of one of the most gripping televisions shows on TV today.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
Synopsis: IMF Agent Ethan Hunt and his crew are demand disavowed by the U.S. Government after invoking Ghost Protocol. Now Hunt and his crew must stop a diabolical madman from unleashing his demented desire: Starting a global nuclear war.
I loved MI - GP (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol). It was extremely interesting and captivating. As a matter of fact, they introduce two new characters into this series and that's Paula Patton's and Jeremy Reiner who both stole the show. MI-GP is such an interesting movie that I was really drawn to Brandt (Reiner) character because he has such an interesting back story, which tied into the entire Mission Impossible story in general.
MI-GP starts off with Ethan Hunt (Cruise) in a Russian jail which he escapes with a convict. From there they're thrust into a mission to tract down the launch codes for Russian nuclear warheads. They get double crossed, not by the IMF, but by the enemy and the United States of America activates Ghost Protocol, which is the entire IMF and Hunt and his team are disavowed and on their own to stop the enemy from using the codes.
Ethan Hunt, played by Tom Cruise, was awesome as always. Especially with his stunts he performed which didn't include a stunt double. Brandt, played by Jeremy Reiner, was a breath of fresh air seeing someone new as he brings to the table an interesting set of skills, which include extraordinary hand-to-hand combat. Benji, played by Simon Pegg, was funny as always, however, unlike last time he matured to the point where he's now a field agent can actually handle himself in the field. Pegg also has amazing comedic timing, which adds a bit of comic relief in an intense story. Jane, played by Paula Patton, was gorgeous, electrifying, fascinating, voluptuous and a show-stealer with her performance. Not all women can do well with the physical demands of hand-to-hand combat for the screen. However, Patton does an extremely great job at utilizing her self-defense skills.
Nonetheless, there's one Character I didn't like and that was Anil Kapoor's character -- I can't remember his name -- he just didn't seem all that convincing like the rest of the cast. I've seen him act as President of an Arab country in 24 Season 8 and there he does an exceptionally great job, but in MI-GP I think he fell short or better yet it just wasn't the right role for him.
In a nutshell, MI-GP was a great watch and I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone, especially if you're a fan of the first three films. What do I rate this movie? 4.5 Stars out of 5.

Trick r Treat
This is a little gem and if I'm not mistaken didn't come out at the theaters. It's based on a comic book that centers around multiple stories within a small town. Personally this is a great watch on Halloween or any day of the year. So if you haven't seen it, check it out.
Dark Water (Original Japanese Version)
A lot better than the remake by miles. I absolutely loved this movie because of the atmosphere. Also at the end, the ghost is really -- excuse my language -- fuckin' creepy! However, I will say this Japanese horror films are not all that scary and they don't sit will with a lot of people. So I would definitely say go into this movie with caution.
The Uninvited
Emily Browning so damn hot! I said it! I had to! I really enjoyed this movie even though it got negative to mixed reviews. I thought the ending was unexpected and worked extremely well. If you like ghost stories or a haunting this definitely check this movie out.
Hard Candy
I don't like Ellen Page -- heck, I can't stand the bitch. However, I love her in Hard Candy. She was perfect for this role and so was Patrick Wilson. This film is about a teen age girl who is trying to solve the case for the murder off another teenage girl who met some men of the Internet. Page's character follows the evidence to Patrick Wilson's character and from there... Everything goes down hill.
Troll Hunter
A film I like to say, when it comes to other DVD collectors, I was the first one to know about it. Before this movie came out, I knew about it for a year. I waited forever for it to come out on DVD and when it did, was I happy. This movie is a Norwegian film and is absolutely amazing. Based on the title Troll Hunter, do I really need to tell you what this movie is about?

DVD Collectiong
The greatest thing invented by mankind is Film. And I genuinely believe that, just like I believe that one day we will be invaded by aliens and I will be the leader of the resistance in my city. But that's for another topic. There's one thing most people don't realize and that's there are two kinds of DVD collectors. Here they are:
What's the difference between the two? The Specific Collector is someone like me. I will only buy movies that I liked, enjoyed, interested in and can see myself watching over and over again. The General Collector is someone who just buys films just for the heck of it. I'm fall in with the later. Personally I've seen movies that I've enjoyed, but I will not buy them because I can't picture myself sitting down and watching them again. For example, I grew up watching Family Matter, Fully House, The Wonder Years, Step By Step, Ninja Turtles etc. But I will never buy them on DVD -- ever. Why? Because they were good at the time, but not now.
General Collectors will simply buy it because it's out and they just like to collect cinema. I like to collect cinema, heck, I like film just as much as a General Collector, but I just don't see the point in buying movies that no longer interest me. Time and time again I see YouTubers -- who in their own right, can do it, and I admire them fore it -- buy movies just for the sake of getting it because it's out.
Also, being a Specific Collector, you collect within your likes. I will not buy drama, even though there are some movies that I like that are dramas i.e. Little Miss Sunshine. However, other than that I will not buy them. Nonetheless, not only will I not buy movies from a genre I don't care for, I will not always blind buy. General Collectors don't worry about buying something that is completely awful! I can't do that, unless I can find a place that has good movies for cheep, such as a Good Will or a Pawn Shops that have DVDs. And in my area there are no Good Wills... That I know of. Some collectors will buy a movie, and even thought the cover says it all "fuckin' cheese, just fuck off while you can!" They will still buy it. I. Can't. Do. That.
However, if that's you, a General Collector, then go for it as long as you're doing what you enjoy. But for me I will remain a Specific Collector of DVDs.

Weekly Recommendations 4/10/2012
Firefly -- Firefly is the greatest Sci-fi television show I've ever seen. Prior to seeing Firefly I was not even close to caring for sci-fi in general. I watched the films, but I never really took the initiative to hunt down Sci-fi movies etc. Then the consciousness of man shifted and I found Firefly and I fell in love with it. There's only one season because the network (fox) canceled in in spite of its high ratings... Well Fox has a habit of doing that a lot with good shows, thinking they know what people actually want to watch. Firefly is one of those shows that simply sucks you in from the get-go and the story is such uniqueness to it, it works. So if you haven't seen Firefly check it out. (Also, a movie was put out called Serenity which is just as great!"
Ginger Snaps -- Ginger Snaps is a werewolf movie about a girl who gets attacked by a warewolf and slowly starts to change into one. I loved Ginger Snaps it's such a fun creepy independent movie that produced two more movies Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed and Ginger Snaps The Beginning, both movies are great, but my favorite is Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed because of Emily Perkins (something about her is just downright hot!) If you like werewolf movies and independent movies in general, check out Ginger Snaps.
Contact -- When I first saw Contact I hated it because, well, where the worst play you can watch a movie? At school. I saw it at school. However, of the years I kept being drawn to this movie until one day I picked it up and re-watched it... And I simply just fell in love with it. Contact is about making contact with extraterrestrial life. However, the lead is Jodie Foster (hottie) who's a scientist working for SETI who's in search for extraterrestrial life, and a skeptic when it comes to faith in a god. However, her co-lead is Matthew McConaughey (Total bad ass) who's a man of faith. Both characters (or beliefs) clash, yet at the end manage to coexistence in a profound way. I would definitely recommend Contact, only if you're into a lot of duologue and open-minded to the possibility to life on other planets.
Gothika -- Gothika such a fantastic horror/thriller. I just recent purchased it, however, I couldn't remember much about the movie. I do know Penelope Cruz (who plays Chloe, also is damn hot) was fantastic in this movie. If you think she can't act, watch this movie and you will change your mind. Halie Berry is just as phenomenal as Doctor Grey. If you want to see a ghostly tale that takes place in a mental asylum, check out Gothika.
The Rite -- The Rite is a very interesting film. I wills tart off by saying it's not my favorite exorcism film, the best exorcism film is The Exorcism of Emily Rose (Jennifer Carpenter, she's so creepy looking it's hot. She's fine!) Anyways, back to The Rite. The Rite is about a Priest who's losing his faith while another, Anthony Hopkins, knows all to well about the paranormal world. As the priest tries to understand exorcism and see if it's a hoax or if it's real, he's sucked into the world of demonic position and comes face-to-face with the one they call the devil. I liked this movie, I thought it was a pretty decent flick, a lot better than The Exorcist with Linda Blair, personally I hated that movie and I found it funny and not scary at all. So check The Rite out only if you're into movies about demonic possession, if not and you still want to see it, then give it a rent!

24
Synopsis: Federal Agent Jack Bauer races against time to stop terrorist attacks against the United States.
One thing to say about this show -- the GREATEST ACTION/DRAMA TELEVISION SHOW IN THE HISTORY OF ACTION/DRAMA TELEVISION SHOWS! I love this show. If you hate it, there's only one reason why you hate it and that's because you are genetically related to Osama Bin Laden -- Ha!
24 is an action pack TV show filled with everything you'd want in a TV show -- explosions, fights, car chases, gun fights, political drama, treason, spies, moles, double agents etc. This show just never lets you go. Each episode is equivalent to one hour of a day, and Jack Bauer has a day to prevent a terrorist attack; so, with that said each episode leaves you with a cliffhanger. The last episode also has a cliff hanger, which is just as shocking, except for Season 6, the ending left the viewers wondering what's next for 24. This was a good strategies the writers used because it took the show in a different direction, which worked for the best.
The brilliance of 24 is the fact that there's so much drama happening and sub stories, which propel the show in various directions. These directions are directions that make the story even more interesting the following season. For example. In Season 4 Jack Bauer and his team were tracking a nuclear bomb, but the man they wanted was a Chinese National who was hiding out at the Chinese Embassy in L.A., the Chinese were procrastinating in spite of the dangers that were happening. Well Jack and his CTU agents (Counter Terrorist Unit) raid the embassy and extract the man (the Chinese National) and during this siege, no one was killed except for the Chinese Councilman (They were instructed to not use deadly force at any cost). Then at the end of Season 4 faked his death with Chloe O'Brien, Tony Almeida and Michelle Dessler (she's so gorgeous! Lol).
Then in Season 5, someone knows Jack is alive and sets him up to be framed, however, this thrusts him back into action. However at the end of Season 5 Jack Bauer was kidnapped by the Chinese and taken to China for the killing of the Chinese Counselmen in Season 4... In between Seasons 5 and 6 it's been two years or a year and a half and Jack Bauer has been missing, and the U.S. government knows the Chinese have him. Also, Jack Bauer has not spoken a word regardless of being tortured (He's a former Delta Force Operator) by the Chinese. In Season 6 President Wayne Palmer pays Jack's Ransom and gets him back from the Chinese in order to meet the demands of a terrorist, Abu Fayed, who says he will provide the location of the man -- Hamri Al-Assad -- who's responsible for all the terrorist attacks in the United States.
Jack is brought back to the United States and is handed over to the director of CTU Bill Buchanan, then Buchanan makes the trade with Fayed and in return Fayed gives Buchanan the location of Assad. However, Jack escapes Fayeds custody after discovering that Fayed is the one responsible for all the terrorist attacks and Assad is actually there to stop the Fayed and the terrorist attacks since Assad renounced 20 years of terrorism for peace. So at the end of Season 6 Jack is left looking out into the ocean...
Then the TV movie, 24 Redemption, comes into play where Jack Bauer's soul is in turmoil so he flees to Africa to find a place to find peace or redeem himself. However, he's been subpoena by the Senate to appear before them for crimes such as torture etc., but he doesn't want to go, nonetheless, at the same time, he's trying to help save a group of kids from being drafted into an army to kill for a dictator, so Jack sacrifices his freedom so the kids could flee the country, because the only way they would be able to leave is if Jack went with them.
Then it rolls over into Season 7 which starts four years after 24 Redemption events with Jack Bauer appearing before Senate. They wants to convict him of crimes he did (torture to get information etc.) even though his actions were done in the name of his country.
Fact: Jack Bauer killed James Bond,
Jason Bourne and Chuck Norris.
|
24 is one of those shows that keeps your attention the entire hour, as well as gets you hyped up to the point where you actually want to help Jack Bauer. Heck watching 24 makes me want to fight 300 Spartans plus a ninja clan, then bitch Slap Chuck Norris while I fupa punch the T-1000, then raid a terrorist camp with my flame thrower -- SEMPER FI -- pile-drive hulk Hogan and Slap him with a Slim Jim, then meditate and Astral Project to Mount Olympus and defeat the Gods of Olympus along with the Titans, then return to my body, then create the zombie virus and start the zombie apocalypse, kill all the zombies with a two dollar pistol and save the day, then plug into the matrix, fight Neo and a million Agent Smiths, then burn down a Jehovah's Witness congregation... Repeat. That's how great 24 is. That's how engaging it is. And that's how awesome it is. If you haven't seen this show, please check it out!
What do I rate 24? 5 Stars out 5 all the way!

The Walking Dead Season 3 Theories
The Walking Dead one of my favorite TV shows on right now. If you haven't seen it, I guarantee you will like this movie. So if you have a chance to pick it up -- go for it! Now, what is the point of this post? To give my theories on what I believe will happen in Season 3 of The Walking Dead.
I will start of by saying two things. If the writers depend to much on shock-factor, the show will end up like Smallville and Heros and if they kill off Daryl Dixon, the show will fall flat on it's face. With that said, I am truly excited about this television series because there's so many avenues the writers can take. Nonetheless, this post is to give my theory about what I believe will happen in Season 3 of The Walking Dead.
In Season 3 of The Walking Dead, I believe Merle will return possibly with a gang of his own and Morgan will return with his son Dwayne. [SPOILER ALERT] Shane dies in Season 3, now for the first two season, Shane was the main villain in a way, he caused a lot of tension within the group especially when you see his actions. Now that Shane is out of the picture, the has to be some form of conflict within the show, to keep the show interesting, moving and on edge. So how would this be achieved? By simply bringing back Merle (with or without a gang) and bringing back Morgan. Merle is a racist and Morgan's black, both characters are strong and can definitely take charge, so with that said there will defiantly be some friction between the two.
Also bringing back Merle would mean T-Dog (also black) would be caught in the middle of this feud because T-Dog dropped the key in Season 1, which caused Merle to raining hand-cuffed on the roof. So Merle's only option was to cut off his hand. So there will definitely be conflict there.
Furthermore, with Merle returning, Daryl, Merle's younger brother, would also be in conflict for a number of reasons. One, Daryl always seemed like someone you can talk to regardless of if he hates you or not -- he can reason. So over the course of Season 1 and 2 he becomes a redeeming character -- you start to like him. With that said if Merle returns Daryl might relapse into his old ways and take Merle's side. Two, he may rebel against Merle. Three, if Merle returns with an army of outlaws behind him, this will put everyone in danger especially Merle if he doesn't take sides with his bother. There's so many possibilities that can take place if Merle returns.
Personally I think Daryl and Merle are very complex characters and if they were to be written off the show just for the sake of shock value, then the show will start to go down hill from there. Nonetheless, if you've never seen the The Walking Dead then I highly recommend it.

Weekly Recommendation 4/2/2012
House -- House is a movie that I've been trying to figure out the name of for years -- I remember as a kid, I'd sit around and watch this movie with my mom. If you haven't seen this little horror/comedy, check your local library and give it a watch.
Wolf Creek -- Wolf Creek isn't the best film out there, however, for a low-budget road trick/slasher film, this little gem is remarkable.
P2 -- P2 is a very underrated movie that came out in 2011 sometime if I'm not mistaken. It was never released in theaters, however, regardless of the distribution level, it doesn't change the fact that this movies is absolutely well-done. You kind of start to sympathize with the killer and start to realize "all he wanted was someone to have Christmas dinner with him!" Just check it out and enjoy.
Skyline -- This movie isn't for everyone. Personally I enjoyed it because it was very different, however, to me, it seemed to work. Everyone has their own different tastes, so you decide if you want to see it... Well I just might do a DVD Review on it just to give you a better picture of what this movie is about.
Fargo -- Fargo one word describes it: Masterpiece. When I first saw this movie, I immediately fell in love with Frances McDormand, because she's funny and cute at the same time in this movie. It's suppose to be based on a true story, but we all know where that goes when it comes to Hollywood and "true stories" they're always quick to stretch the truth further than it really is. Nonetheless, I highly recommend Fargo in this weeks Weekly Recommendation.

Immortals
Synopsis: A power-hungry man is searching for a bow that can conquer heaven and earth. However, the Gods of Olympus have chosen a man -- a servant -- to defeat evil armies before they conquer the world and heaven alike.
Immortals is such an awesome movie. I love Greek Mythology because the stories are extremely creative. Honestly, when I first went into his movie my initial thoughts were "a 300 rip-off." Was I wrong! Immortals is a fantastic flick. Great action. Amazing actors. The cinematography is amazing, however, the only thing that's akin to 300 is the way it was filmed (the "comic book look") and the dolly fight scene as the main character kicks-ass. Nonetheless, it doesn't matter, because there was actually a great story there and this story was fantastic.
I'm not saying this movie doesn't have it's flaws, but that doesn't change the fact that this movie is actually very entertaining. The story is interesting also. There is one thing I'd like to point out and that's the gods of Olympus die in this movie, not all of them, but a good number of them. But it appears that only another god or a Titan can kill a god, but this idea doesn't change the fact that it's still a very entertaining film. I'm not to up-to-par with my Greek Mythology, but the books I do have on it and the stories I do recall, the gods can't die.I may be wrong, but I don't recall them ever being killed.
What I enjoyed the most about this particular film was the fight scene with the gods, and the gods were all bad-ass themselves, using their weapons. I.e. Zeus (A sword), Poseidon (he used a trident), Athena (I believe knives), Heracles and Apollo. I can't recall of their weapons, but one of the gods used a chain to fight and I believe that was Heracles and Ares used a hammer. However, regardless of who used what, the fights scenes between the gods and the titans was fantastic! So many people put this movie down for whatever reason. I'm going to assume that were hopping for another 300, but it's good that the producers didn't fully take the 300 route because it would have said one thing and one thing alone: "We're just trying to make money, and you fools are dumb enough to give in and see this movie."
Yes, we're all aware that the studios main focus is to make money, but at least they allow the producers to be creative with it. Personally I thought Immortals was a fantastic film and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Greek Mythology like I do. So if you get a chance pick this movie up and check it out.
What do I rate this movie? I rate it 3.5 Stars out of 5.

Drive
Synopsis: A man -- without a name, his mom was drunk -- is a Hollywood stuntman, a getaway driver, and a mechanic in a shop. He ends up falling in love with his neighbor, whose husband is in jail. Meanwhile, his boss (Brian Crantson, the only bearable character in this movie) sets him up with a job using money from the mafia. When the husband of the girl he loves comes home, all hell breaks loose...
I will be straight up honest with you -- this movie is overrated, over-hyped and even boring 90% of the time. I couldn't get into this movie at all. It's ashamed because I thought it was going to be one of those "kick-ass" movies like Drive Angry or Faster, but it wasn't. Why did I think it was going to be off-the-charts in action? The previews are very misleading -- very. I remember watching the previews and saying "Oh, this going whoop ass!" But, no, I was deceived.
I'm not sure if I've ever heard of Ryan Gosling before this, maybe I have, not sure, but he was hideous in this movie. Some say he's suppose to come off as a humbled guy who only speaks when necessary. Yeah, I'm sure another actor could have done better, but after seeing Gosslings' performance I realized his acting in this movie was very 1 dimensional, it had no depth, no raw feeling, no emotion -- even when he "snaps" at the end, he looks just like when he was first introduced; however, the only thing is he's smashing some guys fingers with a hammer, without expressions. I kept thinking "slap this guy i the face with a Jack-hammer to get a response out of him!" Think about this, a guy who rarely speaks. He meets a girl and her kid. He gets to know the kid and then he says to this kid, "Want a toothpick?" That was my "what the fuck" moment!
Personally, I wanted to see emotion, maybe Goslings' character was related to Alma on The Happening, remember how she doesn't like to "show emotion?" Well not in this movie, he really give a good performance for not showing emotion -- what did I just say? -- oh well the movie still sucks.
Drive is very slow, ironically it tried to sale its self as a high-octane racing-like movie. For example, at the Begining you see Goslings' character in the middle of a heist. However, they kind of get discovered, however, he's so calm he simply drifts around avoiding the helicopter and cops. Even I'll admit, that's a skilled driver, but if you try to sell a movie as a fast-and-furious high-speed pursuit kind of movie, yet there rarely as any high speed pursuits, it's going to fall flat with most of the audiences. I speak for myself, in this matter, I hated the movie. However, seeing him avoid the cops and the helicopter was unique and very cinematic, and gave you the feel that you're about to get to know a guy who's devoid of human emotion, but then it turns into this over saturated film, with nothing in it. Even when he beat the guys face in while on the elevator, he still had no emotion. Maybe that's how the film was suppose to be, but for my liking, it wasn't great. I want to see him evolve emotionally, characteristically and mentally (even though you do see that, and I will admit it).
It would have been more entertaining if Gosslings' character was cruising around avoiding the police like he was doing at the beginning of the movie, but then he gets caught and we get to see his skills as he evades the police and the helicopter in a high-speed pursuit evading the cops. It kind of happened, but it wasn't entertaining it was boring. I know it takes a lot to evade a helicopter, nevertheless, he's suppose to be skilled and in the movie he's very precise and has everything set up. So if he thinks everything through, then he would have a contingency plan for escaping the police and the helicopter at the same time.
Another aspect Drive I disliked was the pacing. Everything was so slow. I couldn't bare see the montage of him and the the female neighbor and her kid, I couldn't imagine how she would fall for a guy like him, especially with his lack of proper human emotion (I just realized Goslings' character and Bella would be a perfect match). The romance was overrated and over romanticized. An emotionless guy, plus an hopeless romantic girl falling in love = awkward romance. What the point of having romance if the character doesn't evolve and really show his emotion. Maybe I'm missing something and I will watch it again just to see if I missed something everyone else picked up. Nonetheless, I will say this, it's rare that I hate a movie, then re-watch it, and then end up loving it.

Underrated Movies Of 2011
As most know, I love movies. Movies are just as good as books! However, every now and then I gotta say that there are some movies that just slip under the radar and are skipped over by very overrated movies such as Avatar! So I figured I'd compile my own list of the most underrated movies of 2011:
Kill the Irishman
Kill the Irishman is about a true story of a man named Danny Greene who the Italian mob had tried to kill him multiple times and failed every time. Personally I didn't know what to expect when going into this movie. But after watching it, I realized I'm glad I listened to my friend, because if I hadn't I would have passed over it like I do most films that don't appeal to me. So if you have the extra capital I recommend giving this little gem a watch.
Hannah
I loved this movie. This is a Luc Besson film, very typical -- you know the one with a strong female lead. I honestly felt this movie was a very interesting watch because its amazing watch a girl who looks twelve years old kick a bunch of grown men's asses. If you haven't seen this, watch it. Especially if you like movies that are spy thrillers, political and action-packed.
Liam Nesson is an amazing actor is practically everyone movie I've seen him in. Unknown is very underrated and it had an excellent cast with a heck of twist at the end. If you haven't seen this flick and you love political movies, spy thrillers, or assassination movies. I say give it a shot. It's very much like Bourne Trilogy, Mission Impossible, and the movie Traitor. This film is very engaging and it will keep you on your feet because the action and the story is simply superb.
Drive Angry
What can you say about Drive Angry? It's a heck of a lot better than Drive. I'm a huge Nicolas Cage fan and the majority of the films hes been in, I've enjoyed -- even The Wicker Man. While watching this movie you have to suspend disbelief and simply submerge yourself into the film and accept it for what it is, a modern-day Grindhouse film. Everything about this film screams Grindhouse. It's perfect and it fits absolutely well with the story. Nicolas Cage played John Milton very well. There's lots of action, gore, nudity and a creepy villain, Billy Burke (The only tolerable one in the Twilight Saga.) So if you want to see it, but not sure if you want to spend that much money on the film, wait until it's cheaper or buy it used, because it's absolutely and amazing film.
The Lincoln Lawyer
Matthew McConaughey plays a lawyer who can get you off from just about any crime. He's good and he works out of a Lincoln Town Car. This is a thriller and if you've never seen it, I suggest you get it's worth the watch and worth the price. I've seen this film multiple times and enjoyed it each time I viewed it. So if you like political thrillers then pick this one up and enjoy.
Contagion
I liked this film for a number of reasons -- the actors had no make-up and it makes you want to take a shower. Contagion is a thriller about a virus that starts to spread and now the CDC and the World Health Organization are tyring to find a cure, contain it and find patient number zero. The assembled cast is perfect and the diction is just as brilliant. Contagion is so interesting that you don't know who will die and who will live. This isn't a film that makes it obvious that so-and-so will not die because they're the highest paid actor on the market. In Contagion there's a lot of popular people Kate Wenslet, Gwenith Paltrow, Matt Damon etc., so trying to figure out who will live is irrelevant especially when you're trying to figure out where this virus came from. It's a fun watch and I definitely recommend it.
Tower Heist
Tower Heist is about a group of lowly workers working for a multi-millionaire who squanders their money and their retirement etc. So a few of the employees (and former employees and non-employees) band together to rob their boss and take back the money he had actually stolen. Tower heist is a pretty decent comedy. I thought it was funny and I enjoyed everything about the movie. However, there are some parts that are considered far-fetched and a little to risky even for a movie such as this. Nonetheless, Tower Heist is definitely worth watching.
Super 8
Super 8 is an underrated film. It had Spielberg written all over it -- alien, kids, innocence, kids saving the day etc. I actually enjoyed Super 8, it reminded me of a modern day Sandlot, Stand By Me or The Goonies. However, unlike Sandlot and The Goonies, the characters in Super 8 were not well developed and that's OK for this kind of film. There's a lot of action happening and because of the action you can only do so much character development. In the Sandlot and The Goonies, you actually care for the characters and you're rooting for them. In Super 8 you really don't care to much for the characters except for Elle Fanning's character, you do end up caring for her, but apart from that you really don't care to much for the majority of the characters. Nonetheless, the action and the story literally makes up for lack of character development. I strongly recommend Super 8.
Attack the Block
Attack The Block is a film from England, which I must say is absolutely fun. However, the idea of the kids trying to act "gangster" with a British accent and the tone of their voices an octave or so higher than the gangsters in Los Angeles, kind gives them a -not-so-intimidating kind of feel to the film. Though, I will say apart from the cultural differences the film still sands out and is really fun to watch. The aliens are very unique to be honest kind of creepy if you really think about it because they look like giant bears or something that blacker than black except for their teeth which have a indigo blue glow to it. It's still creepy at times. Nonetheless, the best actors in Attack The Block is Nick Frost (Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Paul.) his characters is funny at times. So with that said, if you like aliens mixed with comedy I suggest you take a look at Attack the Block.
Sucker Punch
Sucker Punch was made by Zach Snyder one of my favorite directors respectively on par with J.J. Abrams. Sucker Punch is such an underrated film for a number of reasons: The action, the story, acting, fight scenes, the cinematography, the direction, music score, hot girls and creativity. A lot of viewers hated Sucker Punch for a lot of reasons including the CGI. I, for one, don't mind the CGI. I understand that there are times where CGI is needed and will make the film a lot better. However, if you limit yourself to simply practical effects, there's only so much you can be able to achieve. Like Sucker Punch without the CGI and the beauty it adds to the film, I can not imagine how it would be without the CGI. Sucker punch has such amazing aspects to the film that I fell in love with the movie in general. Some say it's confusing, however, I can agree with that, but when you sit back and ponder over it, you start to realize a number of things and why they happen that way simply because it all takes place in her mind. Again, this movie absolutely underrated.
Battle: Los Angeles
Battle: Los Angeles = Badass! I loved this movie from the moment the film started to roll. I was even more excited that the film came out to DVD just three months after it was released in theaters, which is very rare unless it was a limited release in selective theaters. Everyone who hates this movie always complain about the same thing: the shakiness of the camera and the cliche dialogue. OK, I'll admit sometimes the dialogue is kind of weak, but the shakiness of the camera added to the "realness" of the movie. I felt like I was actually there. Plus this film is suppose to be like a documentary as if someone is filming the alien invasion. If that were to really happen and someone were to follow a group of MARINES around to watch the kill aliens, I can almost guarantee you that it will end up looking like how Battle: Los Angeles turned out to be. Gritty -- shaky cameras -- explosions -- yelling -- cries for help. Battle: Los Angeles had such a simple story line it worked. Hector, the kid of one of the survivors, is a really good actor. When he had his crying scene I was convinced. And again, as I said in many other posts, Michelle Rodriguez is hot and I went to see this movie because of her. Yeah, it's true, but even if she wasn't in it I still would have gone to see it. I couldn't believe my eyes and ears after reading and seeing all the negative reviews about this movie. Are people really little bitches they can't handle a little "motion sickness?" Well me I don't get motion sickness. However, my friend said if you don't focus on that and simply enjoy the movie, you will not notice it very much and you'll notice it for what it is -- a gritty movie, that's trying to sell its self off as a realistic looking film... And it succeeds. So therefore, with that said, I think Battle: Los Angeles is the most underrated film of 2011. So if you haven't seen it because of all the "negative reviews" about it, watch it for yourself and decide.

Five Most Underrated Movies Of 2011:

Weekly Recommendations 3/27/2012
- Jack Brook's Monster Slayer -- Jack Brook's Monster Slayer is about a guy who loses his family from a monster attack when he was a child. However, after growing up he has fits of rages. He works as a plumber taking night classes. Until one day his professor asks him to come to his to fix a plumbing problem. Well he disturbs ever and the professor becomes a crazy freaky monster consuming the class. Now Jack becomes a reluctant hero and faces his fears. Personally, I enjoyed this movie. There were no CGI (I find nothing wrong with CGI by the way) and it was all practical effects. This movie gives me the feel of House (198?) or Slither. It was funny, although not as fun as Slither and House, but it works.
- Altered -- A group of friends are traumatized from a past experience with an extraterrestrial alien from another planet. Years later, the main character drifts apart from the rest of the group while the others remain friends while they hunt alien down. One night they capture it and bring it to the main characters house, which prompts a series of strange activities as the creature tries to get free. And when it does, it starts its killing spree. For a such a low budget movie from the Blair Witch Project director, it was actually very well done. Nice effects. Great acting. However, I will say this, this film might not be fore everyone so approaches this with your own discretion.
- Galaxy Quest -- A group of has-been actors from on old TV show called Galaxy Quest are recruited by an extraterrestrial race, to save their race from an evil alien, when theGalaxy Quest re-runs are mistaken for historical events. This movie is a whole lot of fun! Tim Allen and Sigoruney Weaver and Sam Rockwell are all great actors including some of the others -- especially that alien girl with the black hair, damn she's hot for some strange reason. But this film may have slipped under the radar, but I personally think Galaxy Quest -- actually a parody of Star Trek -- is definitely worth the watch. So if you can find this movie at a local store, check it out. You wont be disappointed.
- Pan's Labyrinth -- The princess of the underworld died and is later reincarnated as a child on Earth. She's taken to living with her new stepfather and mother. After arriving she embarks on a journey that takes her to different dimensions, encounters with strange beings and magic! This on my two twenty films of all time. I absolutely love this movie. I always recommend this movie because it's such a great sad story for adults. It's dark and creepy. It gives you hope, yet fear. And it's dark spin on traditional fair tales with fairies, fawns, monsters, magic, fairies etc. It's perfect. If you liked movies such as Labyrinth, Never Ending Story or Don't be afraid of the dark, you'll defiantly want to check this movie out. However, I will point this out, this movies is subtitled. It's a film by director Guillermo Del Torro. I don't mind subtitled films, I love to read too. Then the combination -- reading subtitles and watching a movie -- is the ultimate form multitasking.
- Session 9 -- Session 9 is about a cleaning crew that goes to Danvern's State Hospital to remove all the apestos before demolition. However, as they return, strange occurrences start to happen that causes the characters to lose trust and question each other and then go against each other. One of the characters starts to listen to the old recordings of patients that were emitted before it shut down and these recordings literally give you clues, hits and chills after listening to them, because this recordings are the key to the story. This is a movie most people have not heard of. This film is absolutely amazing. When I first saw it, I liked it, however, I didn't think it lived up to all the hype it got. Some said it was scary and others said it wasn't. Nevertheless, when I saw it the second time, I then realized it was extremely creepy and very well written. I can't recommend this movie enough. It's definitely a must see!

Another World (A zombie film)
Synopsis: Five survivors travel through the apocalyptic wasteland trying to survive the zombie apocalypse.
Another World seems like an interesting little film. As a matter of fact it's a foreign film from Israel. Watch the trailer and see for yourself and I guarantee you will be engulfed by the story and how the zombie apocalypse is playing out. I'm about just as excited for this movie as I am for Re-Kill. In the film, there's five characters:
A Colonel, who was once a solder. According to the Another World website, he represents a "political-military-economic establishment, which sees life as a constant violent struggle for power and resources."
Then there's the doctor, who represents "a commitment to love, justice and non-violent struggle against all wrong."
The Wizard, a young adult and "an inventor and autodidact scientist, who looks at life as a puzzle to be solved. He strives to discover, understand and invent, with no thought as to the consequences."
The Daughter is a very casual girl, "sailing through life enjoying every comfort, while ignoring or unaware of bigger and more profound issues."
The Mouse is a "murderer and rapist, evil in the most banal aspect of the world." I can almost guarantee you that he's going to be the reason a lot of people are going to get killed. Rule #3 For Surviving The Zombie Apocalypse: "Kill the asshole before he kills you!"
I'm drawn to this movie because I like movies that have action as well as character development like Orphan for instance, but since they have limited characters and they actually thought out the characters and their personalities, I can't wait to see how Another World unfolds on screen.
Nonetheless, here's the sad thing is just like Re-Kill, there is no release date. both films were suppose to be out in 2011 but they pushed the date forward blah, blah, fuckin', blah. I want to see a new zombie movie already! So until then keep your eyes open for this upcoming zombie flick.

Movies To Look Out For In 2012
Honestly, to date there really isn't a lot of movies I'm looking forward to this year; however, it's possible that I haven't heard about all of them. Nevertheless, there are eight movies I am definitely looking forward to in the coming months.
Resident Evil -- I know it's obvious I have a love/hate feelings towards Paul W.S. Anderson. I enjoyed a lot of his movies, however, the Resident Evil series have literally been raped by this turd. Therefore, why would I be interested in this new movie? Well it has zombies in it. What more can you say? I will say this -- and I'm mostly speaking to Paul W.S. Anderson even thought he may never read this -- do not, and I repeat, do not just put shit into the film that has no place in it and has not logical or possible origin. I.E. The Ax-Man from Resident Evil 5/Resident Evil: After Life or like the damn prison from that's in Resident Evil: Afterlife in the middle of Los Angeles... That looks like a castle... A castle from Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Damn it Paul there is no prison like that in Los Angeles, it doesn't exist -- it's fictional -- it's wrong -- it's offensive -- you're trying to mind fuck me -- only aliens do such a thing -- you're just a douche bag and keeps raping our wallets and the Resident Evil series.
Total Recall -- I believe this film will be amazing -- it has Collin Ferrel in it, it's bound to be good. From my understanding Total Recall is based on a book and the original movie was loosely based on it. However, the new remake or new installment of Total Recall will be much truer to the book. I'm looking forward to it.
Battle Royale -- This is a remake of at Japanese movie of the same name. It's about a bunch of school kids or Junior high kids who get kidnapped and put into the forest or somewhere to kill each other to stay alive. It sounds very wicked. I have not seen the original, however, I will see it before this remake is released in theaters.
The Raid -- This movie is going to kick ass. This is a foreign movie involving a S.W.A.T. Team that raids a building infected with degenerates, however, they get locked in and they have to fight their way out. Personally I think this will be an amazing film because lately I've been getting back into martial arts movies. So with that said, yes, I will defiantly be checking this flick out.
Re-Kill -- This movie is a zombie movie -- before you judge it watch the six or twelve minute trailer it's amazing! The premise surrounds a special ops group trained to obliterate the zombie virus. It's been, five years since the zombie virus has wiped out 85 percent of the worlds population. This special ops group finds signs of the outbreak starting again and they're tasked with destroying the virus before it kills the rest of humanity. I believe this film will be amazing and it will definitely be on my "to watch list." Now this film was part of the After Dark Originals, however, the film has so much praise that they postpone the films release in order to give it a better release and long theatrical release sometime in 2012. I personally can't wait.
Prometheus -- Prometheus is a prequel to the Alien franchise. This film shows the origin of the aliens and how the space craft that was seen in Alien and Aliens how it got there and who that giant creature is that was sitting in the seat. Personally, I think this film will be the best and biggest blockbuster of 2012. I've been following this movie for a while trying to find out a release date for it, well it turns out, it's opening on June 8th. I will definitely pre-order my tickets like I did Serenity "burn the land, boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me!" Sorry just had to throw that in there.
World War Z -- Zombies. That's all you need to say to have my attention. I would definitely pre-order my tickets for this movie. This movie is based on a book of the same name -- which I've read -- and it was an amazing read. However, I do have my reservations about the movie. The way the book was written it makes it difficult to see how the movie would work. The book is an oral account of the zombie apocalypse and how we survived, who started it and who should take the blame etc. All you're doing is reading about a guy who goes around interviewing people and getting a wider picture or accounts of what they went through, from average survivors, students, military leaders, politicians and filmmakers etc. Nonetheless, the movie should hold my attention. Now since the main character is Brad Pitt should give the story some credibility since I feel Brad Pitt wouldn't do a movie like that unless it was absolutely worth doing or had a good story.
I hope you enjoyed this list of some of the movies I'm looking forward to. So mark your calenders and get ready.
